Woodfired vase
This larger vase was fired during my recent residency at Ceramics School in Hamtramck, MI, in the double decker wood kiln. This pot was decorated with a white slip through which I swiped my fingers to create a design, and fired in the upper chamber of the wood kiln for 2 days to 2300º F, and reduction cooled to around 1600º. During the slow reduction cool it developed a glittery surface.
