Woodfired orb vase made with clay from my backyard in NC, fired to 2300ºF in the double decker wood kiln at Ceramics School.
This piece comes from the bottom chamber where it was right in front, at the firebox, receiving a lot of ember action and extra ash. Reduction cooled to around 1500º.
This orb vase was made using clay dug directly from my backyard, rocks included. Intended for dry use only.
