This latest work was made during my month-long residency at Ceramics School, in Hamtramck, MI.

During this time, we fired two wood kilns, & I also made some cone 6 work using Lizella clay from GA.

Most of the woodfired work was made with the clay I dig in my backyard in North Carolina. The dynamic surfaces come from natural flyash that accumulates during the 2-day firing, as well as slip. We got some amazing results from our reduction cool- the pots have a palette reminiscent of the wildfire sunsets we experienced that month, with a dusting of glitter.
