I design and tend gardens that are beautiful, useful, and welcoming to wildlife.

I offer garden consultations, site design, and installation. My approach is to balance habitat, aesthetics, and usefulness from a human perspective by creating textured, layered and colorful gardens that feature a mix of native, edible, and beautiful plants.

I focus on building soil on-site and reducing watering requirements through the use of natural mulches and compost.

Projects

  • A native woodland garden installed near Penland, NC.

  • I designed a mostly-native garden and fire pit area around pre-existing blueberries and elderberries to create a soft meadow aesthetic featuring dyeplants, edible plants, and a rock wall.

  • As part of our fall 2024 residency on bread+clay, fellow ceramicist Alex Barao and I designed a cob pizza oven.
